Cleaning used car tips

It is universally acknowledged among used car owners that one of the most hazardous threats to the cleanliness of a car’s interior is children. Despite the best of intentions, spillages are bound to happen, even if they are not caused by a dropped ice cream or drink and when they do, they can really detract from the overall appeal of a vehicle.

Fortunately, there are some actions that used car owners can take to prevent the interior of their car suffering and to stop the upholstery resembling something akin to a patchwork quilt.

It is commonly understood that prevention is a better solution than a cure, yet taking a preventative solution when it comes to a car’s interior is something that is still incredibly overlooked by used car owners. There are plenty of products available that are designed to coat the inside of a car, in order to make spillages and spots much easier to wipe up as soon as they appear, often negating the need for drastic, deep-cleaning measures later on down the line.

If a car’s interior is upholstered with leather, there is no such option for a protective coating (although leather is fairly easy to get stains off from the outset). Cleaning products should be generally avoided when dealing with such interiors, instead a mix of a mild soap and some warm water applied to streaks with a sponge should be the cleaning method of choice.

If a stain or blemish has somehow managed to make its way into the fabric, it can provide owners with a real challenge in removing it. One of the most popular and effective methods is to stir baking soda into warm water, then apply the liquid to the spot in question – after waiting for half an hour, the area should then be soaked with a dye-free towel.
